Modix to Reveal Core-Meter at Formnext 2023

October 19, 2023

Modix is set to reveal the latest in their “Core” line of cost-effective large format 3D printers, the Core-Meter, at the upcoming Formnext event in Germany next month.

The Core-Meter, with its 1 cubic meter print volume, is the second in the Core line, following the Core-60 which was released earlier this year. The Core series focuses on budget-friendly solutions for varied applications including small businesses and startups.

Priced at a very reasonable $6,900 USD, it offers an economic alternative to the existing BIG-Meter, which comes at $13,500 USD.

A notable feature of the Core-Meter is its employment of CoreXY kinematics, enhancing print speed without compromising on print quality. It uses a single print head, unlike the BIG-Meter’s IDEX dual print head system designed for advanced multi-material 3D printing. The hardware also includes an accelerometer on the print head to minimize vibrations, thereby improving overall print quality.

On the electronics front, it leverages a Duet electronic controller, and for the hotend and extruder, it uses the lightweight Phaetus Rapido and APUS extruder respectively.

Versatile

Modix’s strategy is aimed at providing versatility, given their range of supplementary add-ons for the Core-Meter, including enclosures, air filtration systems, and filament dryers. This modular approach enables users to customize the printer according to specific requirements, further broadening its application scope.

“Modix is taking a significant step forward by diversifying our product portfolio,” said Shachar Gafni, CEO of Modix.

“We will soon offer a total of seven distinct models, catering to a broader spectrum of customer requirements.”

The Core-Meter aims to cater to a wider audience by delivering large-format 3D printing at a reduced price point without sacrificing quality. Modix’s continued investment in auxiliary equipment suggests a focus on not merely being a hardware provider, but a comprehensive solutions provider in the large-scale 3D printing landscape.

“We firmly believe that the Core family is positioned to tap into an untapped market segment, delivering high-quality large 3D printers to a wider audience,” said Mr. John Van El, CCO of Modix.

“We are eager to showcase our new offerings in our expanded booth at Formnext and anticipate reconnecting with industry partners and colleagues at this momentous event.”

You can visit Modix at Formnext Germany 2023 in Hall 12.1, Booth 139 at the Messe Frankfurt on November 7-10, 2023.
