Thrinno’s Software Makes Metal Printing Cost Calculation Easier

February 28, 2017

Belgian start-up Thrinno has developed a software to aid metal printing services. The software calculates the cost of metal printing and provides a quotation. It also generates models that users can present to prospective clients. The name of the software is Thrinno Fast Quote. The software is poised to save time in producing quotations for clients. Additionally, it backs up all your work on a cloud platform.

The purpose of the software is to simplify the complex sets of calculations that go into metal manufacturing. Price can vary depending on build size, amount of support, powder usage of a design, thermal stresses and much more. The program puts all of the various price factors into a set of algorithms to produce an accurate price. It also allows users to pick the optimal orientation of the build plate. Upon picking different orientations the software gives out different levels of cost and build quality as well.

How Does it Work?

  1. Create an Account.
  2. Make a profile of your printing specs. The software also takes into account various different specs for various printers. As a result, it can give more accurate readouts when it has your printer’s exact specifications.
  3. Upload a model to the software. At this point, the model is passed through several algorithms and analysed against the specs.
  4. Consequently, the software takes the various factors and specs into account and produces various prices for different orientations.
  5. After the best orientation is chosen, the software gives out a definitive quotation. It also gives out visual feedback on the model.

If you’re interested, signing up for the software is free. The alpha version charges one Euro per import. Additionally, for a comprehensive tutorial of the ins and outs of the software, you can visit their website.
